Today is National Daiquiri Day. Lucky us – a good excuse to unwind with a wonderful Peach Daiquiri at the end of the day. Oh how I adore anything with a peach – one of my all time favorite fruits! And what better way to enjoy that luscious fruit than as a slushy for grownups. This peach delight comes from thekitchen.com. As I share her passion for peaches, I could not resist sharing her recipe for a perfectly blended Daiquiri.
So break out the blenders and come join the party!
Frozen Georgia Peach Daiquiris
4 to 5 large ripe peaches, washed, peeled and pitted
1 cup light rum
1/4 cup of Curacao (orange liqueur)
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
4 cups ice cubes
Score each peach at the blossom end. Plunge into boiling water for about 30 seconds. Immediately plunge into ice water. Peel back skin. Slice peaches, removing the pit.
Combine all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until evenly combined and slushy. Divide between 4 daiquiri glasses.
