Traveling Dinner Party – Part 10 – Conclusion

Bet you thought Part 9 was it – the end. After all; it was all about desserts. Aren’t desserts the end of any meal? Yes – most of the time. However; lavish affairs generally end as they began.  Friends gather, raise a glass and toast the success of an evening well-spent.

An assortment of after dinner drinks and coffees are served. Small platters of cheese and fresh fruits are offered in the relaxed atmosphere of a drawing-room or parlor. In another place in time, this would be the point of the evening when men withdrew with drink in hand to smoke fat cigars, argue politics and tell tall tales, leaving the women to speak freely of the issues of the day.

What matters most at the conclusion of the evening are what memories are made of. It’s the laughter of friends breaking bread together, catching up with one another, taking a well-deserved time out from our otherwise hectic lives. It is my sincere hope that you found some inspiration along the way and picked up a new recipe or two in the process.

Let us raise our glass and toast the things make life worthwhile. Here’s to friendships forged to last a lifetime and the bonds that go beyond life itself with those we treasure most.
